Giovanni Balleggi Guest artist - October 2005

Giovanni Balleggi was born in Tuscany, Italy in 1967 and lives in the countryside around Florence. His desire to communicate lead him to photography.
He especially loves to shoot urban scenes and is a researcher of small cities and their inhabitants. He is very curious about everyday life and its silences.
He also loves landscape photography.
He has worked for many years with prints and slides and now he also works with digital photography.
He is not much into hard retouching and thinks digital is fine but only for dark room like elaboration. He often shoots instinctively but there is always a project or an idea behind too. He is very aware of the power of image for anyone who is able to see it, not just to look at it.
