René ErtzingerGuest artist - April 2001
René Ertzinger is the second fractal artist we host at BTDesign Art Gallery. It seems like science and art are joining even more strictly this new century. Our brain's Rationality and Creativity can find a totally new way of expressing themselves in computer art. Some base fractal formulas can lead to millions different shapes and patterns and the artist is able to create always new worlds and dimensions. René likes to call himself an intergalactic space cadet enrolled in the study of fractals. In his exhibition you'll see a selection of the worlds he's discovered and visited. A 2001 Fractal Odissey! Barbara Tampieri
"It was early in 1993 that I enrolled myself as a space cadet and began the study of fractal exploration. During my first year of space travel, I mostly encountered uninhabited planets and I only took about a dozen snapshots that I personally enjoyed viewing. My two lucky years, 1994 & 95, after exploring over a million different mathematical options with thousands of different base formulas, I encountered hundreds of breath-taking spheres and planetary kingdoms. Camera at hand, my adventures resulted in a collection that now contains over 3000 snapshots that give testimony to my voyage through intergalactic fractal space." René Ertzinger
