Alexander SchwarzGuest artist - November 2001 Best Art Site 2001
Born in April 1961, Alex grew up in a little dirty industrial town called Rastatt in Germany, an important centre of the German revolution. At the age of 5 his mother discovered his talent for painting, music and technical stuff. He learned to play the cello at school and then the electric bass.
His ambitions in fine arts helped him developinh his interrest in typography.
After he finished school in 1981, he served in the German army until 1983 and then learned his job as typesetter in one of the biggest printing houses of his hometown.
After 12 years of learning and working, Alex founded the cross-media office "Type-o-Graphics" in Rastatt thus starting his own business. Prepress working and teaching print-media and multi-media software have been his professional ambitions so far. After several years of print-design he developed his own style in web-design and successfully entered this expanding market.
In the middle of the 90's he got his first camera, a REVUEFLEX reflex camera. In 1999 he discovered the Lomo LC-A in a catalogue from Conley's. Digital photography with a Camedia Z 2000 completed his ambitions of viewing the world by his own eyes.
