Pancho Basurco Guest artist - September 2002

Pancho Basurco was born in Lima, Peru in 1973. He began to study drawing in 1990 while he was still a student at secondary school.
In 1996 Pancho enters the Fine Arts School in Lima to complete his artistic studies.
At the same time he starts his artistic career, a personal research of the roots of the Ancient Precolumbian tradition which he carries on through many oil paintings and drawings.
In January 1998 he traveled in Cusco to live closer to the reality of the Andes world.
The Precolumbino project starts there and in that period are also the first exhibitions of his works.
In 1999 he organizes the "Primer YAWAR todas las artes", a meeting of young Artists from Peru and abroad.
Back in Lima in 2001 he developed his website Peru Precolumbino, which features not only his works but several multimedia projects.
